Marilyn is the founder of Love Lead Connect Coaching, training people in the essential skills to have powerful, sustaining relationships in every area of life.
Marilyn wanted a committed relationship but the men she dated, nice men who fell in love with her, never felt like a good match for her. Her longest relationships were two years. She wanted a relationship where the man respected her and saw her as an equal partner. Thirty years later, at age 48, she had a personal conversation with a man she had known casually for 10 years (they volunteered for the same non-profit and saw each other at the annual conference), and a year later they married. Her husband, Chuck, was the first man who she felt saw her as an equal partner and she never got bored with their conversations. She became an instant step-mom to her five children (ages 15-25) and grandma to the first of eight grandchildren.
After navigating her own journey of love, Marilyn is passionate about helping other women create their journey home to love. As challenging is it can be to find a healthy partner, “happily ever after” is a fairy tale. Making your commitment last takes a whole new set of skills. Marilyn guides women on this journey to lasting love and partnership first with themselves, then with their partner. Many of the same skills that make you a great partner will support you in your professional relationships as well. She teaches these skills in Relationship School, a program for women where you can learn all the skills you should have learned in school but no one taught you.
Her 18-year career at IBM included being a manager, lead trainer, marketer to federal government leaders, project manager and “Relationship Fixer.” After obtaining a Master’s degree in Organizational Development, she joined Accenture as a Change Management Specialist. She had her own consulting business for years, consulting in change, organizational design, strategic planning, management and human resources.
Marilyn’s business coaching success comes from her love-based leadership approach. In business, she coaches managers to embody leadership habits for success whether they are an informal leader or lead a large team or organization. She guides leaders to create a culture for their team or organization that is aligned with their purpose, and to successfully coach and lead change built on trust and communication. She helps employees discover how to show up as leaders in their teams and organization (no matter what their title) and even in their family and community, and build solid professional relationships within and outside of their organization.

“Marilyn is an amazing coach with a deep understanding of relationships. After struggling with a blended family, Marilyn showed me how to create a home that was more open and understanding. Her practices for gratitude showed me how to create a stronger bond between not only my husband and I, but also my children. I have come to see that even my children’s bonds with each other strengthened; they have been kinder and more loving to each other. Marilyn’s course has created an invaluable and unexpected impact on my life, and I couldn’t be more grateful!”
